"Information Literacy is defined as the ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand" (The National Forum on Information Literacy).
Meeting information literacy standards will assist students in successfully completing their course work at Point Park University and prepare them for excelling in their future careers.

Point Park University Library offers instruction services to promote competency in information retrieval and evaluation skills necessary for students’ coursework and for life-long career, educational, and personal information needs. Faculty members may request a Library instruction session for individual classes. The Library staff will tailor the session to the needs of your students, with an emphasis on Library resources in your specific discipline. Please note that the request must be received at least 1 week in advance to ensure we can offer the session. Additionally, it is expected that the instructor will attend the instruction session.
Faculty interested in placing items on Course Reserve should fill out a Course Reserve Request Form. For more information please consult the Library's Course Reserve Policies as there are limitations on what materials may be placed on Course Reserve in compliance with copyright law and Library policy.
Point Park Faculty members can borrow material directly from participating EZ-Borrow libraries by filling out a "Direct Faculty Borrowing Authorization Form". This form allows faculty members to go directly to a participating EZ-Borrow institution and check out material.
To borrow material directly from other EZ-Borrow libraries pick up and complete the "Direct Faculty Borrowing Authorization Form" available at the Library.
Please note: Faculty members are responsible for all fines that may be levied by the lending library and all material borrowed directly must be returned to the lending institution by the borrowing faculty member.
Since 2008, Point Park University has celebrated faculty’s annual achievements during Faculty Recognition. Find past posters from the event on the University's intranet under Library - Faculty Recognition.
