Acceptable Use Policy

The student Acceptable Use Policy outlines the proper use of Point Park's technology resources.

Account Information

Students will need to use their unique account credentials in order to access a variety of the available technology resources. Your account information will vary depending on which system you are trying to access.

Canvas

Canvas is the University's course management platform, which can be used for assignments, testing, collaboration, grading and online course work. 

Computer Labs

Point Park has more than a dozen computer labs located around campus for both general use and instruction. Both Mac and PC labs are available.

Computer Purchasing Program

Students, staff and faculty are able to use the Computer Purchasing Program to purchase discounted Apple products. Some software discounts are also available.

Intranet

The Point Park University Intranet is the primary online hub for all employee related information. Faculty and staff members log in using their domain account. Access is restricted to University employees.

Media Services

Faculty members may contact Media Services with any questions regarding classroom multimedia technology.

Network Storage

Students may store documents on the Z: drive and access those files from any lab computer.

PointMail

PointMail is the web interface for the University's campus email system.

PointWeb

PointWeb allows students to access to course registration, grades, unofficial transcripts, financial aid information, account balances, and online payment options.

Residence Hall Connectivity

All rooms within Point Park's five residence halls are equipped with one data network port per pillow. The data port allows each resident student to access the Internet from his or her personal computer.

Schoology

Schoology is the University's course management platform, which can be used for assignments, testing, collaboration, grading and online course work.
*Beginning Fall 2023, Schoology will be replaced by Canvas as our new course management system.

Student Printing

All current students are allocated 30 credits to use for printing in the computer labs. Visit the student printing page for more detailed information regarding print credits, printing costs and instructions on how to access your print account.

Technology Help Desk

The Technology Help Desk is available in Thayer Hall, Room 220, to assist students with any issues that may arise while using the available technology resources.

WiFi Access

Secure WiFi access is available in most academic and public spaces on campus.
