Students to discuss Alternative Spring Break trips to New York City, New Orleans
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
Students who went on this year’s alternative spring break trips will talk about their experiences during a presentation Thursday, March 18, at 2 p.m. in the JVH Auditorium, second floor of Thayer Hall.
Both groups combined sightseeing with volunteer work to help those in need. The trips were organized by the University.
In New York, the Point Park students cleaned up a city park, assisted at an agency serving homeless people and helped another organization prepare for a fundraiser. In New Orleans, the Point Park group helped build Habitat for Humanity houses in an area that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Both groups toured areas of their cities, visited famed landmarks and ate in fun restaurants.
The discussion is open to anyone interested in learning about alternative spring break. Questions? Please contact Natalie Taylor
