Pioneer Experience is packed with information and resources, and it's also a fun experience that offers you a taste of college life and the chance to meet other incoming students. Many students begin friendships at Pioneer Experience that last throughout college and beyond.

Most Pioneer Experience sessions include parent and family programs to make sure everyone has the right information and resources you prepare to attend Point Park.

When to attend Pioneer Experience

Pioneer Experience sessions are held in May, June, July and August for new students starting fall semester 2014, and in January  for the new students starting spring semester 2015.

Pioneer Experience for Students Living on Campus

This two-day program gives students who will live on campus the opportunity to stay overnight at Point Park. You will be assigned to a residence hall room, where you can experience what campus living will be like when you return for fall semester. We have secured discounted rates for parents at nearby hotels for their overnight needs.

During the orientation sessions, you and your family will hear from important offices such as Public Safety, Food Service, Campus Life and the Student Health Center. You will also get to know our orientation leaders, who are current students, and hear first-hand what their experiences have been like at Point Park.

Finally, you will learn about academic resources such as the Center for Student Success to confirm your pre-registered schedule for fall, and faculty members, who will shape what you will experience in your specific major throughout the next four years.
