"We are incredibly proud of our Conservatory of Performing Arts students for their exceptional achievement in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival competition and for being so well-represented in the award categories."
Point Park University’s Pittsburgh Playhouse was recognized with several Kennedy Center American College Theater Awards, sponsored by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, a national organization promoting the educational and creative process of university and college theatre.
The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival was founded 56 years ago and has held a conference every year since, including virtually in 2021 and 2022.
In January and February 2024, eight regional festivals showcased productions, offered workshops and celebrated students' work at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). Point Park University was the host school for Region 2 where students presented Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s recent play ≈ [Almost Equal To].
“We are incredibly proud of our Conservatory of Performing Arts students for their exceptional achievement in the KCACTF competition and for being so well-represented in the award categories,” said Garfield Lemonius, M.F.A., dean and artistic director of the Conservatory.
