Graduate Admissions Process
Doctoral degree candidates must submit the following:
- Appropriate completed application form.
- $30 application fee (The fee is waived if you apply online!)
- Official copies of all college and university transcripts from an accredited American institution or its equivalent from a recognized institution outside the United States. Official transcripts:
- Have a seal or statement indicating no seal
- Have an authorized signature
- Are mailed to Point Park by the issuing institution to:

OR
- Are submitted electronically by the institution utilizing Parchment or E-script online transcript services - Three letters of recommendation. These should be sent directly to the Office of Graduate and Online Admissions.

Master's degree candidates must submit the following:
- Appropriate completed application form.
- $30 application fee (The fee is waived if you apply online!)
- Official copies of all college and university transcripts from an accredited American institution or its equivalent from a recognized institution outside the United States. Official transcripts:
- Have a seal or statement indicating no seal
- Have an authorized signature

- Are submitted electronically by the institution utilizing Parchment or E-script online transcript services - Two work or school-related letters of recommendation addressing the applicant's motivation and seriousness of purpose for graduate work. These should be sent directly to the Office of Graduate and Online Admissions.
NOTE: Candidates for the MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage and the MA in Professional Studies are not required to submit letters. - For further information, please see Graduate Requirements.
Non-degree candidates must submit the following:
- Appropriate completed application form
- $30 application fee (The fee is waived if you apply online!)
- Official copies of all college and university transcripts sent directly from the college or university to the Office of Graduate and Online Admissions, 201 Wood St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222
Online candidates must submit the following:
- In addition to submitting all other required items, applicants for fully online programs must submit two photos for identity verification
- One photo must be a head shot/selfie-type photo
- The other must be a picture of a government-issued photo ID< such as a driver's license, military ID, or passport
- Allowable file types: .JPG, .TIFF, .GIF, .DOC, .DOCX, .PDF
International Students
International students also may apply for full-time admission to certain on-ground/hybrid graduate programs at Point Park University. In addition to the above, international students must submit the following:
- Official TOEFL/IELTS or Duoling scores (Duolingo accepted for MSISBA/MBA only), only certain countries are exempt.
- Post-secondary education outside the US requires at cost to you a certified credential evaluation using one of the following services sent directly to our university:

World Education Services (WES) :ICAP course by course evaluation is required.

SpanTran : The Evaluation Company -- SpanTran offers a discounted evaluation if you use PPU's link.

Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) : A course by course evaluation is required.

InCred International Credential Evaluators -- A course-by-course evaluation is required. Recommended for applicant seeking athletic participation.

- Students who apply for full-time F1 visa status are not permitted to register for classes on a part-time basis per USCIS regulations.

Rolling Admissions
- For most programs, applications from qualified students are accepted throughout the year.
- Some programs, such as doctoral and MFA programs, may have application deadlines.
- Students can be admitted into graduate programs for the fall (September), spring (January), and summer (May) sessions. Please note that some programs have limited start dates.
- For information on your program of interest, check the program page or contact your admissions counselor.
- International students: Due to consular processing F1 visa international applicants are not eligible for rolling admission and have set deadlines for admission and I-20 generation , please email iss@pointpark.edu for further guidance.
